Outstanding Akuma (Gouki) Collection Posted: 08 Feb 2011 06:50 AM PST I've seen Street Fighter collections thru many design/art blogs , but I never seen a collection of the most insane and kickass character of the series: Akuma (also known as Gouki in Japan). So I picked some amazing illustrations of this anti-hero.When I was a kid, I remember when I used to play Street Fighter with my pals, everybody were always using the most famous characters like Ryu, Ken and Chun Li, but I always rather use Akuma. Though he had almost the same moves as Ryu and Ken, he was (is) way more stronger. shalomoneCalvinclykeUdonCrewnefar007acirGoretoonno26kikicianjurShinobuzudarkcomartist

Beautiful Sketches by Chris Olimpo Posted: 08 Feb 2011 04:01 AM PST Chris Olimpo is an Illustrator/Designer/Writer, currently working for Lockheed Martin as a Technical Illustrator. Born in Montreal, Chris has eaten carrots since the growth of his first teeth, to maintain his 20/20 vision in order to keep creating cutting edge designs & illustrations that attract the eye and evoke emotion. His Goal is to attain the creative dream by allowing his surroundings to inspire him into designing creations strong enough to influence current//future reality.I had the chance to meet and talk with Chris while I was in Montreal for the Montreal Meets last January and he gave me his business card and asked me if I could take a look at his work. I really like the sketches and personal work and that's why we are feature him here. Also that's why conferences and events are so cool, we always get the chance to know and meet with very talented people. Some worksFor more information about Chris Olimpo visit his Web sites at:

Architect Day: Marlon Blackwell Architect Posted: 08 Feb 2011 01:59 AM PST Marlon Blackwell born in Germany and raised in the United States, lived in several places, but settled in the small town of Fayetteville, Arkansas, which combines the activities of his office with his work of Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas.<!--break-->
Marlon Blackwell was born in Germany but raised in Florida and the Philippines. He studied architecture in Boston and taught at Syracuse and when was 35, in 1992, moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he is now an Associate Professor at the University of Arkansas. It was also when he has created his office Marlon Blackwell Architect and started project with high quality new works for the city that chose to live.
Blackwell, one of the reasons he chose to live in Fayetteville, is because there "can build things". And really does it, as the residences and commercial spaces with a qualified architectural in form and details. The revitalization of old buildings in the city is also viewed on Marlon Blackwell's portfolio, as Saint Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church which was built on the structure of an old commercial building, adding new elements into the simplicity of form and materials. Ultra Stylish Illustrations by Carlos Lerms Posted: 07 Feb 2011 06:00 PM PST We've seen some pretty good illustrators during the past few weeks, but it's always nice to push it a little harder and find even greater pieces of illustrations around the web. Today's pieces are simply amazing.<!--break--> Directly from Mexico, Carlos Lerms delivers us truly stylish illustrations that are pure eye candy for any illustration lover around this neighborhood. I took a good look at his DeviantART portfolio and got to see his work from 2004 until now, and it's incredible how he has evolved his techniques. That gives me the will to start illustrating as well, and I really hope that these will also encourage you to keep doing your pieces. I hope you enjoy these. And of course, don't forget to visit Carlos' portfolio. He'll mostly appreciate it! Cheers. ;) |
